Experimental Visual Arts & Design
by Renata Oliveira Álvares
I’m a visual alchemist who loves combining materials, techniques and ideas to create beautiful, unique and unexpected objects.

About
As a multidisciplinary visual artist and designer, I’m currently working with ceramics and wasted materials as a way of personal and creative expression. In my work I combine my passion for composition, form and color with personal interests and concerns like nature, water and plastic pollution.
Mission
• Add color, light and joy to your house
• Create awareness about the plastic pollution
• Inspire creativity and playfulness
Background
Originally from Brazil, Renata has lived in Europe since 1998 and is currently based in Hilversum, the Netherlands.

Growing up in a house filled with ceramic pieces and experimental works made by her mother—also a visual artist—from materials found on the streets, Renata started working with ceramics as a hobby while employed as a graphic and exhibition designer for art and history museums.
After thirty years in design and countless ceramics courses, she shifted her focus in the past years to dedicate herself to develop a personal artistic expression using clay and wasted materials.
